Dubai –(Sept. 18, 2002) – Nothing can be more exciting
than driving a very powerful car yet enjoying the peace of mind
through the abundance of safety features. This is the feeling you
get when driving the Nissan Maxima, a combination of performance
and safety topped with exquisite luxury in its category.
When it comes to safety, Maxima allows you to truly enjoy a driving
experience with confidence about yours and the passengers’
safety. All safety considerations have been taken into account in
the design and construction of the vehicle. Safety features include
driver and front-passenger and side airbags, Anti-lock Breaking
System, front-seat belt pre-tensioners, a three-point rear center
seat belt and a rear center headrest.
Mr. Takeshi Nakajima, Director at Nissan Middle East FZE commented
saying, “At Nissan a great emphasis is placed on providing
a high level of safety that allows passengers peace of mind. This
is reflected in the “Triple Safety” initiative. First
there is “Information Safety” to forewarn the driver.
Next there is “Control Safety” to assist driving behavior
to avoid accidents. And third, “Impact Safety”, which
acts to reduce injury in accidents. While enhancing the basic performance
of the vehicle, Nissan incorporated a host of design features based
on these three approaches to safety. As a result, everybody can
enjoy driving Maxima with complete confidence and comfort”.
Among the many elements that provide information to the driver,
powerful Xenon lamps or CSR halogen headlamps which illuminate a
wider area and boast greater intensity. Fog Lamps improve visibility
under foggy or rainy conditions, while cornering lamps provide extra
illumination when initiating turns. Finally, a high-mounted stop
lamp clearly indicates to following drivers when the brakes are
being applied.
Once danger is recognized, “Control Safety” provides
the driver with the means to avoid it by controlling the vehicle
with precision. Anti-lock braking system (ABS), adjust brake fluid
pressure on each wheel electronically, preventing wheel lock and
contributing to safer braking.
In the event of an accident, superior design and engineering for
“Impact Safety” can help avoid or reduce not only the
risk of injury resulting from the impact, but also the risk of secondary
or aggravated injury just after the impact.
Designed with the aid of super computers, the impact-absorbing
body is divided into two separate zones: a crushable zone designed
to absorb collision impact, and a safety restraint zone that acts
as a protective shell around the vehicle occupants.
For example, in a collision, certain parts of Nissan vehicles are
designed to deform, and other are designed to resist deforming.
The front of and rear of Nissan vehicles are designed to crumple
in a controlled manner. These crumple zones help absorb impact energy,
reducing the amount of crash energy absorbed by the passenger compartment.
Important to mention, all Nissan vehicles have pipe-style steel
side-door guard beams located inside the panels of the doors. The
beams are placed to help add protection for the passenger compartment
in the event of certain side impacts.
Side air bags SRS compliment the seat belts to help reduce impact
force to the head and the chest region in the event of impact to
the side. Either the side airbags SRS for the driver or for the
front passenger will deploy, depending on which side of the vehicle
is struck. Dual front airbag SRS provide an extra margin of protection
for the driver and the front passenger. Use in conjunction with
the 3-point seat belts, they help reduce the risk of injury in certain
types of frontal impacts.
Seat belt pre-tensioners function by immediately taking up seat
belt slack, for faster restraint in the event of a frontal collision
exceeding a certain impact level. Load limiters keep the force applied
to the occupant by the seat belt from reaching an excessive level.
The rear center position also comes with a headrest and 3-point
seat belt.
Active head-restraints move forward and upward to support the head
in the event of impact from the rear. This helps to reduce impact
force to the neck.
When it comes to safety issues, the most important factor is the
information available to the driver who is in control of the vehicle.
About 90% of the information that the driver depends on is visual
information. Supplying this information is the aim of “Information
Safety”, which helps the driver anticipate potentially hazardous
situations and make accurate decisions to avert them.
Finally, Power window with anti-squeeze function employs sensors
to detect the presence of any obstruction in the path of the closing
window and automatically return it to the down position.
With every vehicle produced by Nissan, the quality standards of
safety come as top priority. Nissan pursues a relentless effort
in providing world-class safety measures that compliment the highest
features of design, technology and performance.

with maximum benefits.
AAC’s latest promotion is designed to attract the Nissan Maxima

promotion offers for the first time 3.9% insurance rates on Maxima
vehicles.
The deal that is specially designed by AAC involves 3.9% insurance

2nd and 3rd year.
Mr. Michel Ayat, General Manager, Arabian Automobiles Co., commented
saying, “Our objective is to facilitate the purchase process
of the Nissan Maxima by providing very competitive insurance rates
on the newly bought vehicles. Our staff will process all the insurance
procedures and make sure to avoid customers any hassles”.
The promotion is valid for the whole month of February. Customers
are invited to avail from this unique opportunity to enjoy the sophisticated
performance and luxury of Nissan Maxima.
The high demand for the new Nissan Maxima in the GCC cannot be
attributed to just a single factor. The car’s beautiful exterior,
which features sweeping lines and sharp sculpted edges, has been
a major element in attracting a wide segment of buyers. But the
new Maxima is a lot more than just a pretty face.
Mr. Takeshi Nakajima, Nissan Middle East Free Zone, said, “To
many people, Maxima embodies the concept of superb design, combined
with a host of cutting-edge technologies that ensure exceptional
quality. Add to this, the Maxima’s comfort and enjoyable driving
performance and you can understand why this car has become a top-selling
sedan in the region”.
Maxima’s number-one attractive feature is the 227 horsepower
engine. The 3-liter V-6 VQ engine was described by America’s
leading automotive journal, Ward’s Auto World, as ‘the
smoothest rev-happiest V6 on the planet.’ This engine power
provides exhilarating performance and gives the driver a very responsive
acceleration.”
Besides engine power and superb performance, which together put
Maxima in
a class of its own, the vehicle has a uniquely luxurious character.
Its new style offers lines that are both intelligently designed
and graceful, which results in an attractive and harmonious whole.
Each part of the vehicle has been designed to be superbly functional
as well as strikingly fashionable.
The inside story of the Maxima is as astonishing as its style and
performance. A combination of beauty and comfort makes just entering
the vehicle a sheer pleasure. Nissan has even increased the length,
width and height of the interior to make the Maxima one of the most
spacious cars in its class. Moreover, the vehicle has been made
even quieter, thanks to lighter engine parts, new mounts and thicker
side windows.
Once inside the car, the many exciting features make you feel right
at home. As you would expect in a luxury car, all Maxima models
offer a CD player, cruise control, power windows and mirrors, remote
central locking, and a leather gear shifter and steering wheel.
What’s more, particular models offer the additional benefits
of a 6-stack CD changer, climate control and wood grain trim. While
the top-of-the-line model has luxurious leather trim, a sunroof,
power driver and passenger seats, and the bonus of heated front
seats.
“Every aspect of the Maxima is dedicated to one ideal: to
make driving a rewarding, pleasurable experience. With an increase
in engine power, we have naturally had to make the car even more
sure-footed. Moving the lateral link behind the beam has enhanced
the innovative Multi-Link Beam rear suspension. This improves both
ride comfort and driving stability by minimizing body roll, maximizing
tire grip and maintaining directional stability during cornering.
Above all of this, the Maxima features a computer controlled Anti-lock
Braking System that limits wheel lock-up to maintain steering under
heavy braking, even on wet or slippery surfaces. The brakes themselves
are power-assisted discs, with the front ventilated to give maximum
efficiency,” explained Mr. T. Nakajima.
When it comes to safety, Maxima allows you to truly enjoy a driving
experience with confidence about your and the passengers’
safety. All safety considerations have been taken into account in
the design and construction of the vehicle. Safety features include
driver and front-passenger airbags, Anti-lock Breaking System, front-seat
belt pre-tensioners, a three-point rear center seat belt and a rear
center headrest. Top-of-the-line models have the additional reassurance
of side impact airbags for the front driver and passenger.
In short, Nissan engineers and designers have worked on all details
together, feature by feature, innovation by innovation, to create
a luxury car of unequalled style, quality and performance. The new
Maxima provides comfort of performance that marries smoothness and
power, it embodies the comfort of a design dedicated to quiet relaxation,
safety and maximum driving pleasure.
